About us

We have been where you are

In one paragraph

Dror Partners LLC is a private lender and direct real estate buyer in Freehold, New Jersey. The people behind it have faced the letters, the deadlines and the fear of losing property, and came through it. We built this company to give other owners what we needed then: a straight answer, real options and enough time to choose.

We know this feeling

The envelope you don't want to open. The court date circled on the calendar. The phone calls from people who suddenly want to help, all of them asking for something. The nights spent doing the math again, hoping it comes out differently.

We have been there. We know how quickly a missed payment becomes a lawsuit, and how alone it can feel when the bank stops answering and the clock keeps running. We also know it can end differently. We came through it, and that is the reason Dror Partners exists.

A small debt, a large loss

Geraldine Tyler bought a one-bedroom condo in Minneapolis in 1999. In 2010, in her eighties, she moved to a senior apartment building in a safer neighborhood and stopped paying the condo's property taxes. About $2,300 in unpaid taxes grew with penalties, interest and costs to roughly $15,000. In 2016 the county took the condo, sold it for $40,000, and kept every dollar, including the $25,000 that was hers.

She fought it all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court, which ruled unanimously in her favor in May 2023. She was 94. It took seven years and a landmark case to recover equity that should never have been taken.

New Jersey has its own versions of this story. In East Orange, Lynette Johnson lost a building she had bought for $55,000 after falling behind on its taxes, while she was caring for her dying husband and while the tax notices went to that property instead of her home in Newark. She lost in the trial court and won on appeal, and the courts are still deciding what she is owed. New Jersey changed its tax sale law in 2024 so owners can protect their equity, but as her lawyer said of the outcome, "Something is certainly better than nothing."

In both cases the problem was not that nothing could be done. Time ran out before anyone offered a way out. That is the gap we fill.

Our philosophy

Why we are different

Owners in trouble hear from a lot of people. Some want an upfront fee to "negotiate with the bank." Some offer to "save" the house if you sign the deed over and rent it back. Some just want the property for as little as possible. We do none of that.

You can come through this too

If you are reading this late at night with a stack of letters beside you, know that you have more options than it feels like right now. A loan can buy time on an investment or business property. A fair, direct sale can turn a forced loss into a planned move. And free programs exist for the home you live in. The first step is just a conversation.

Why the name Dror

Dror is a Hebrew word for liberty. It is the word used for the year when families who had lost their land through debt returned to it. It is also the name of the swallow, a small bird known for finding its way home. The swallow in our logo is a reminder of what this work is for.
